Pre-Flushes

To keep the drilling fluid and the cement slurry separated, low density and low viscosity fluids are often pumped ahead of a cement slurry. These low density and low viscosity fluids are referred to as Pre-Flushes. Pre-Flushes can be designed for use with either water-based or oil-based drilling fluids and are also used to thin and disperse drilling-fluid particles. Pre-Flushes prepare both the pipe and formation for the cementing operation, and because they are Newtonian fluids, they can easily be pumped into turbulent flow at low pump rates. Examples of Pre-Flushes are water, oil, or more advanced formulations also known as chemical washes.

Olive & Branch M&D co-developed the ProFlush line of Cementing Pre-Flushes for use both in water-based and oil-based drilling fluid environments. ProFlush WBD and ProFlush OBD are high-performing, innovative, and fit-for-purpose Pre-Flushes that will significantly assist in cleaning the wellbore in preparation for the placement of cement. ProFlush WBD and OBD can be used alone, or in combination with a Spacer on Primary Cementing jobs, Plug & Abandonment jobs, and Offline Cementing jobs.
