Paraffin Inhibitor

The naturally occurring paraffins in crude oil can cause flow challenges when deposited on oil pipeline walls during the production, transportation, and storage of oil and gas. Paraffin inhibitors are used to protect the wellbore, production tree, and pipelines/flowlines from paraffin deposition. Introduction of the chemical modifies the shape and size of wax crystals and disperses the paraffin back into the oil to ensure steady flow.

The effectiveness of paraffin inhibitors is strongly dependent on crude oil composition. Paraffin inhibitors must be introduced into the oil before the oil cools to its cloud point. The wax content, pour point, and other factors should be determined prior to beginning production to determine the best treatment method. In addition, asphaltene composition should be determined before treatment because it can reduce the effectiveness of the paraffin inhibitor.

Products
Olive & Branch M&D offers a versatile, high-performance paraffin inhibitor/dispersant/cleaner to address most flow assurance needs. Our paraffin inhibitor uses advanced technology to prevent the accumulation of paraffin particles, penetrate deposits, remove existing deposits, and prevent build up.

No-Alkanes
No-Alkanes is a highly effective cleaner/dispersant used to remove asphalt deposits. No-Alkanes prevents redeposition and is the preferred treatment for the most difficult heat exchangers, tank bottoms, and production related paraffin wax buildup issues. No-Alkanes offers the below benefits:

  • Is an excellent solvent for heavy asphalt
  • Cleans old deposits
  • Is safe for most gaskets
  • Uses a simplified treatment program
  • Eliminates or reduces the need for hot oiling
  • Is easy to pump without dilution
